Unrealised P&L — definition & meaning

The paper profit or loss on trades you still hold open.

Unrealised P&L is the profit or loss on your open positions at current prices — it isn't locked in until you close. It moves up and down with the market.

It is real in the sense that it affects your equity and margin, but it is not money in the bank until the trade is closed. Beginners often spend unrealised gains in their heads too soon.

The information on Trding.io is for general information only and is not investment advice. Trading involves a real risk of losing money, and most retail traders lose. Never trade money you cannot afford to lose.
