Day trading — definition & meaning

Opening and closing trades within the same day, holding nothing overnight.

Day trading means opening and closing all positions within a single session, so you carry no overnight risk. Trades typically last minutes to hours.

It avoids overnight swap costs and gap risk but requires time, discipline and quick decisions. Most people who try to day trade for a living do not succeed, so approach it with clear eyes.
